Products Overviews:

Laparotomy sponge (lap sponge)

Laparotomy sponges that are also referred to as lap sponges or abdominal pads, are absorbent pad that are used during surgical procedures, especially operations involving the abdominal region. Laparotomy sponges are offered for application when high absorbency is required to handle heavy drainage, keep wound dry and promote healing. The lap sponge assists in keeping the surgical site free of body fluids such as blood, providing surgeons with a clear field of view and clean work space, and lap sponges are used for absorption of exudations and stop bleeding during surgical operation. A laparotomy sponge can also be used to cease blood flow by applying pressure onto the bleeding wound.Lap sponges or laparotomy sponges are made out of pre-washed cotton featured with highly absorbent cellulose for maximum absorbency. 100% pre-washed cotton can reduce lint and loose threads and steam-dried for further softness. Lap sponges are latex free to ensure high absorption and breathable. Safe double stitched all around the lap sponge can ensure no loosing of fibers. Optional central sewing of lap sponge can be available. Non-woven facing and super absorbent cotton filler with rayon fibers help diffuse liquid throughout the lap sponge. Control loop handles with detectable threads are optional, when loop handles with detectable threads are required, control loop handles are often blue with a radiopaque thread sewn into the lap sponges to aid in X-ray detection.

Gauze Bandage

Gauze bandages are made out of 100% pre-washed medical grade cotton gauze with highly absorbency and featured soft and conformable, low lint. Gauze bandages are thin, woven fabric that can be placed over a wound to keep it clean while still allowing air to ventilate the bandage and skin to protect and facilitate in the healing process of wounds, secure dressings in place, maintain cleanliness of the wound, and absorb bodily secretions. Gauze bandages can also be used to slow the rate of bleeding, prevent the entry of dirt and bacteria into the wound, hold the skin together to accelerate the healing process, and some may have antiseptic properties, meanwhile, gauze bandages are ideal dressing for hard to reach areas that may be difficult to dress. Because of its non-adhesive properties, gauze bandages can be used directly on a wound and suitable for fixation of dressings and for compression of joints, limbs and other parts of the human body, and gauze bandage can also be used as an outer layer in compressive wound care as well as a secondary wound dressing. High quality gauze bandages featured with low compression, high tensile strength and breathability, such can assist in the healing process. Gauze bandages are available in various dimensions and plies, any specification of gauze bandages is subjected to purchase order.

Gauze swabs

Gauze swabs are manufactured from 100% absorbent cotton to ensure a high level of absorbency and softness, gauze swabs are used to clean out and protect minor lesions, wounds, scrapes and abrasions and also used to absorb blood and other bodily secretions. Sterile gauze swabs are non-adhesive and sterilized, so they can be placed directly over the wound. Sterile Gauze Swabs are usually sterilized using gamma Irradiation and Ethylene Oxide, Sterile gauze swabs are bleached using hydrogen peroxide with demineralized water. Non-sterile gauze swabs are also available in various thickness as per purchase order. Just as most gauze products, gauze swabs are ideal for one time use and are discarded post use as medical waste. Gauze swabs are available with both X-ray detectable and undetectable. And should an x-ray detectable gauze swab is left in a body cavity, it can easily be identified, located and extracted. In an invasive, surgical setting, the x-ray detectable variant should be used. The classic gauze swabs often come with cut edges folded in square or rectangular without fraying edges to prevent residual fiber deposition, and available in various sizes and thread yarns and meshes.

Gauze Rolls

Gauze rolls are products used in the administration of first aid, as well as in the dressing of wounds. These rolls are used in the medical field to treat skin that has been cut, broken, scraped, or burned, so it is crucial that they be stored in sterile packaging to protect the patient from infection. It is quite common for gauze rolls to be used to treat a wound on one of the limbs. This is because the long strip of gauze can be used to wrap around an arm, leg, wrist, or similar body part. As such, the product serves to protect wounds and can also be used to keep other dressings in place. Medical suppliers that sell gauze often offer them in various widths. This allows medical practitioners to use gauze rolls on various kinds of injuries. For example, gauze rolls that are just 1 inch (about 2.5 cm) wide can be used to treat small wounds, and can be wrapped around smaller body parts such as fingers and toes. Rolls in smaller sizes can also be used in pediatric medicine. Wider rolls, of course, can be used in the treatment and dressing of larger wounds. In most cases, gauze rolls are made out of cotton. The same is true of most other gauze products that are used in first aid and in medical treatments. The material is very light and has an open weave, which keeps the material from sticking to the wound. Bandages that stick to the wound can cause further damage, especially in the cases of widespread skin afflictions and burns. There are also some kinds of rolled gauze that are coated with products like calamine or zinc oxide, which can help the healing process. Some kinds of gauze rolls are made out of a material that is specially designed to adhere to itself. The purpose of this design is to aid in the process of dressing a wound. If the gauze is not made so that it easily adheres to itself, the dressing may have to be secured with another product such as medical tape to make sure that the wound remains covered. The rolls come in various lengths, which can be chosen between depending on the intended use of the product. Usually the size of the area being treated will determine the proper length of a gauze roll

Gauze balls

Round gauze balls are manufactured from 100% first grade non-allergenic cotton yarn to ensure a high level of absorbency and softness, due to this advantages, gauze balls can be applied directly to the wound. Edges of gauze are turned inside forming a compact ball to avoid loose threads. A gauze ball is essentially a piece of cotton that has been manipulated into an elliptical shape. The predominant application of gauze balls is to absorb blood and other body fluid secretions which may result from surgical procedures. In conjunction with this application, gauze balls can also be used to clean medical instruments, wound disinfection and cleaning the skin.Gauze balls can be available either sterile or non-sterile according to purchase order. Gauze balls can be fabricated with or without X-Ray detectable thread, and come in a variety of sizes and thread yarns and meshes. For the gauze balls with X-Ray detectable thread, when an x-ray detectable gauze ball is left in a body cavity, it can easily be identified, located and extracted. Gauze mesh is associated with the density of the cotton that the gauze ball is made from. A higher mesh count signifies higher density of the gauze. Gauze yarn relates to the fineness (or coarseness) of the ball. An elevated yarn count is indicative of courser threads

Non-woven swabs

Non-woven swab is made from fibers that consist of 70% viscose and 30% Polyester without any binder or optical brightener and latex free, these fibers are pressed together to resemble a weave so that the non-woven swab can be increased absorbency and better wicking, and these swabs are high tensile strength in both directions that guarantee the surgical use of the product. Non-woven swab features breathable, no loose of particles, high absorbent and extra soft, hypoallergenic and non-irritant, so the non-woven swab is ideal for the treatment of skin to clean or cover minor wounds, to absorb light exudation, or as secondary dressings for added absorbency, or to absorb secretion and to treat secondary healing wounds. Compare to traditional gauze, non-woven swabs are cost-effective alternative. Non-woven swab can be available with or without X-Ray detectable thread in green for easier visibility, and can be available in sterile or not sterile, for not sterile products, these swabs can be steam sterilized when sterilization is needed, and sterile products can be used directly when taking non-woven sponge from package. Non-woven swab can be available in different sizes, plies and weights, and these swabs are often asked for 30gsm, 35gsm, 40gsm and 50gsm, and often in bulk or in packs of 50 and 100 units, for other weight, contact the manufacturer as per purchase order.

Triangular Bandage

Triangular bandage is also called a triangle sling, triangle swathe, triangle bandage, also referred to as triangular dressing, can be made out of 100% high quality cotton woven calico or non-woven fabric fiber with sewn edge, triangular bandage that is also known as cravat bandage, is essentially a piece of muslin cloth put into a right-angled triangle, and often provided with safety pins to secure it in place, Triangular bandages are also available in sterile and non-sterile options, dependent on whether the end user are going to dress a wound. According to requirement, Triangular bandages can be available in bleached or unbleached. Mesh is associated with the density of the fabric fiber that the triangular bandages are made from. A higher mesh count signifies higher density of the triangular bandage. Gauze yarn relates to the fineness (or coarseness) of the triangular bandage. An elevated yarn count is indicative of courser threads. Triangular bandages are one of the most versatile bandages, and are essential in a first aid kit. Triangular bandage can be of versatile application includes being used in wound care to provide support and elevation for injured limbs when used to create a sling. Triangular Bandages can also be used to compress, and protect a variety of injuries, and also are ideal for holding first aid dressings or cold packs in place. Triangular bandages can be folded as a thick rectangle of cloth, then the cravat can be placed over a large wound. In this case, triangular bandage functions like a trauma pad, absorbing blood and helping to stop bleeding. Because of all of these uses and potentially more, a triangular bandage is considered a staple in most first aid kits
